Odern Control Systems Must Meet In- Creasingly Demanding Requirements

چکیده
creasingly demanding requirements stemming from the need to cope with significant degrees of uncertainty, as well as with more dynamic environments, and to provide greater flexibility. This, in turn, means that control systems software is highly complex in that it invariably has a large number of interacting parts [20]. This complexity requires that state-of-the-art software engineering methods and techniques be employed. In this article, we will argue that analyzing, designing, and implementing such complex software systems as a collection of interacting, autonomous, flexible components (i.e., as agents) affords software engineers several significant advantages over contemporary methods. In seeking to demonstrate the efficacy of the agent-oriented software engineering approach [11], the most compelling argument would be to show quantitatively how its adoption improved the development process in a range of (control system) projects. Although several applications have been deployed (see [15] and [19] for overviews), such data are simply not available (as is the case for other contemporary software engineering approaches such as patterns, application frameworks, and

Designing An AM Receiver For Low Power Wireless Systems Using The NEC UPC2768GR IC
A wide variety of low power wireless communication systems have surfaced in recent years. Automotive keyless entry, home security, bar code readers, and child monitors are just a few of the many applications for this technology. Most low power wireless systems transmit less than 1mW of power and operate in the FCC PART 15 band (260-470 MHz) where licensing is not required at such low power leve...
متن کاملA Model-based Approach for Achieving Available Automation Systems
Nowadays automation systems are required to be flexible in order to cope with the ever changing requirements of the applications in terms of complexity, extensibility or dynamism. The use of reconfiguration techniques helps to meet these demanding requirements, but at the same time increase the complexity of the systems. This paper presents a supervisor architecture that allows maintaining the ...
متن کاملA flexible real-time architecture
Assuring hard real-time characteristics of I/O associated with embedded software is often a difficult task. Input-Output related statements are often intermixed with the computational code, resulting in I/O timing that is dependent on the execution path and computational load. One way to mitigate this problem is through the use of interrupts. However, the nondeterminism that is introduced by in...
متن کاملMicrofluidic Approaches to Synchrotron Radiation-Based Fourier Transform Infrared (SR-FTIR) Spectral Microscopy of Living Biosystems
A long-standing desire in biological and biomedical sciences is to be able to probe cellular chemistry as biological processes are happening inside living cells. Synchrotron radiation-based Fourier transform infrared (SR-FTIR) spectral microscopy is a label-free and nondestructive analytical technique that can provide spatiotemporal distributions and relative abundances of biomolecules of a spe...
